9 Bass Instrument

The 9 bass, also called the low bass, is made from of 9, 55-gallon steel drums. Each drum houses three notes.

The 9 bass is the harmonic section of the Steelharmonic Orchestra. It has the lowest range and plays bass notes of the arrangements, this gives the orchestra a full deep tone.

The sounds are derived from striking each note with a wooden or aluminium stick with a round ball mounted on the striking end.

The instrument could be mounted on a rack or placed on stands.

The careful placement of the notes in the design of the bass instrument also makes playing these instruments extremely comfortable.

Every pitch has a high and low octave, which means that the sound on this instrument is unsurpassed for volume and warmth. The construction ensures that this instrument is firm, loud, and will provide a lifetime of enjoyment.
